  1. Hello mate. Although it sounds like a simple issue (probably a loose connection between the phono sockets and the PCB) I wouldn't try to do anything yourself.

I know someone who recently tried to repair a CDJ unit and in the process of taking it apart broke something else - there are some very sensitive parts in them. The repair cost was subsequently increased dramatically.

I would give Pioneer a call - there should be a number for their DJ department repairs or something on the website and ask their advise. They would repair it for you but as it will be out of warrantee now I dont know how much it would cost - hopefully not too much but its getting the unit there and back which may be expensive.

Cheers for the info. I'd thought it'd be Pioneer Service Centre job, but I've heard your looking at paying at least £100 and then of course the delivery charges!

I still can't believe my luck to have a fecking broken CDJ.

  2. First track is The Pitcher - 'Dropshot' [Nukleuz], not topside as posted in the original tracklist.

*edit*: in fact, Top Side was probably the label info given as I believe the tune was on Top Side Records, signed to Nukleuz in the UK. Not sure which label we would put in the archives... but the tune is called Dropshot for sure.

I've actually got this on the Nukleuz label and can't believe I didn't spot the misnaming! lol

  3. Ive got MITCH AND MART - GET UP on a one sided white label vinyl featured on clubbers guide 2000 cd not seen any of them about so ill go with that

I've got this as well, I've also got Amoeba Assassin Piledriver, which I bought upon release after hearing Oakey drop it at Crasher NEC 2002 on the Essential Mix.

Also got the Muses Rapt Spiritual Healing from the Scott Bond Essential Mix in 1999.

  4. Have we run out of celebrities that we need to poach from America? Last years was filled with them too.

Can't stand Lady Sovereign. You give yourself a name like Sovereign and go mad when someone calls you a chav? What's your real name then? Elizabeth Duke? :P

  5. Those days are gone now I think Crasher burned down! :boohoo: Was his last one at Magna?

Can't see Jules doing another classics night anywhere else. Although even his classics started to get a bit samey. I was hearing the usual things too regularly. Fridge - Angel, Liberta etc etc. The only reason it could be is for the crowd. I'd love to hear something like Rockafella's Da Boss Track, or Termination Source Poing 98 played as a change. I'm sure the crowd would love those two tracks even if the majority have never heard them before!

  6. Radio 1 has taken a shocking turn for the worse over the past few years regarding the quality of live broadcasts; I didn't even bother to check who was scheduled for NYE on Radio1 til this morning.

Upon checking, this years in particular has been very poor IMO, no variety again. I'm sure these DJ's are great, but as has been the case for quite a while now, Radio 1 seem to only cater for the house heads at live events.

There used to be a time when I'd argue the licence fee was worth paying purely for Radio1's output on dance music alone.

  7. Pretty poor show on my part as I was in Passion listening to John 00 Fleming, but I couldn't tell you exactly what his midnight tune was! Those tequila slammers I had in the Engine next door knocked me about!

Best NYE ever, Gatecrasher, Sheffield 1998, although I've confused myself over the years as what was played at midnight that night too! It was definitely either Camisra Let Me Show You, or PvD's mix of 1998, played by Scott Bond I think!

  9. I'm annoyed as I used to have this. I haven't seen the tape in about 5 years though, which makes me think I've recorded over it. :-(

I'm sure when I first started downloading mix sets back in 2002, I saw it floating around on mp3 on audio galaxy/winmx, but again, it's not something I've seen in a long time. A few people have asked me if I've got this set.

  10. I thought this set was quality. I agree with Tom in that it's not really an 'essential' mix, but I'm not convinced there's that much great trance around at the moment, so this was a breath of fresh air.

I remember 10 years or so ago, I would set my tape recorder to record the essential mix every week; I rarely bother even checking who's on these days. Moving from Saturday nights was a big mistake IMO and while I know the BBC are cost-cutting, but the lack of coverage from live events doesn't help either (there used to be one a month).

  11. Hope you have a wicked time in New York mate. If you've not been before you're in for a real treat, even if it is business purposes. I am ever-so-slightly jealous anyway!!

Thanks for all the hard work on the board, it certainly has changed and grown a lot since I first joined. :)

  12. Judging from my post count you wouldn't think this is my main board, it's along the top of my firefox window :)

I don't post much, but I'm on here a lot. Nice people on here, good conversation and well you know the rest.

I'm on J00F's site, but barely post at all now. While I love John 00, I know nothing about psytrance tunes! They're a nice bunch over there, but so few people are into that scene, or at least, registered on his board.

I used to go on Armin's board, but like the anjuna site, you're not really entitled to your own opinion on there. It's sacrilege to dis their Gods!

I used to go on the Gods board a lot, but that was always a bit clicky too. I've seen quite a few rows on there and 'noobs' shot down in flames because they came on to post how much they were looking forward to going to Gods for the first time. Never noticed when it got shut down, but the board is dismal now and seems to have been abandoned completely!
