  1. I've just ordered the X1 controller for Traktor so I can get more out of the software's effects. I'm still planning to use CDJ's in timecode mode but I'll give you some feedback on the controller once I've had a play.
  2. http://soundcloud.com/nathantremeer/june-2011-mix Hi Guys. Here's my latest mix of Trance and Tech Trance goodies. Starts quite chilled and builds into the harder stuff. 3. You could go for a Traktor setup with a USB controller. I use the software but control it with my CDJ's with timecode CDs. If you get the other version of the software and get a controller instead of using CDs it would make it much more compact. I think the whole thing might set you back a fair bit of money though.
  4. I've not noticed the effect of VAT to be honest, but also not really noticed a huge increase in take home since new tax codes came in. My biggest problem at the moment is last year I was doing about half a month's overtime every month.... this year I've had very little if any. Still, I'm grateful to have a job at all but half a months wage is obviously a significant difference. My car insurance went up a fair bit this year for no reason other than prices have just gone up by a huge percentage - I have 6 or 7 years no claims bonus and everything else still the same this year but paying about £100 more. I also fear the energy bills are going to skyrocket as Tom put it having caught a report about it on the news the other day.
  5. Nice mix mate... a real variety in there but enjoyed most of it. Thanks!
  6. Really enjoyed this one mate. Thanks for sharing. Any change of a tracklisting?

  8. I'm gutted I either lost or sold that CD years ago... I think it accidently got put in a pile of stuff to sell at a car boot! Might have to keep my eyes out for a copy I think.
  9. Yeah Three is not the best. I used to stick up for them a lot having used them for years but I must say I've found coverage to be bad in certain places especially since getting iPhone. Locked in for over a year still though. I hate these 24 month contracts... its too long. The other problem is iPhone 5 is likely to come out over the summer I would imagine. Maybe check that otherwise you'll be out of date almost as soon as you've bought iPhone 4.
  10. I finally took the plunge with iPhone 4 last summer just after its release having only ever had very simple phones before. I can't really compare to other smart phones as I've not used them. I think it's great personally but you are right about the costs. At the time I think Tesco were offering a £20 per month contract for 24 months but the up front cost of the phone was pretty high. I ended up going with three... 500 minutes, 1000 3 to 3 minutes, 5000 texts, 1GB internet for £30 a month. Battery can last me a couple of days but I dont use mine too intensively.
  11. I've actually submitted this set to the audio archives recently as part of my digitising Aza's classic tapes. So hopefully it will be approved and made visible in the audio archive soon
  12. That was a great set but did you mean the London Mardi Gras 2002? The tracklist fits your recollections tune wise where as none of those tunes appear on the creamfields tracklists of 2002 or 2003.
  13. A great, great album Aza, perhaps one of the all time best trance compilations. Pulp Victim - 'The World '99' (Moonman Remix) is just outstanding. It was one of the first vinyls I bought and actually one I got just before buying decks as I knew decks were on the cards and I was collecting a few bits in preparation. I only dug it out the other day in a mix in fact.
  14. I agree the default settings in iTunes do some pretty annoying things. However, if you know how to use it it's all good. I use it and all my files are MP3 unless purchased from the iTunes store. Even then pretty much anything can be converted to MP3 within iTunes if you wish to do so. I don't let iTunes manage my music folders - that would be a terrible mistake. Also it wasn't too hard to adjust the settings for importing CDs - my default setting now is to rip to MP3 at 320 kbps. Was pretty easy to setup and now just does its thing. I do like the iTunes store as well. Apple are very clever at making their products and software all work superbly together. I guess iTunes is pretty useless when using a non-apple MP3 player though.
  15. Great story behind this one for you then Chrissie. Thanks for that. We'll see what Fuzzy can do with your submission then. I'm not sure if I have it or not anyway I still need to have a proper look. 'Let it Rain' is one of my favourite 4 Strings tracks - would have been actually kinda cool to have it rain just briefly for that track I can imagine.
  16. Also I love that when Jules reads the tracklisting at the end of the mix, it sounds like he calls the last track York - 'Preachers of C!' I can only imagine the nightmare it must have been with white labels and acetates with scribbled or unfinished track titles. But it does provide amusement when looking back. In fact I spent a good while searching for that track by that name.. haha
  17. Wow I missed this one! I remember this mix. I was listening to it on the way to go record shopping in london just wishing I could get hold of some of these tracks although alot of them were only just picked up by Jules at the time. Still I seem to remember buying the Act - Something about you, Dutchforce - Deadline and The conductor and the cowboy that day
  18. Nice one Chrissie. I may have a copy also in amongst Aza's 2003 tapes which I currently have. I'm hoping to get some more of them digitised soon.
  19. Club Class @ Atomics in Maidstone from 2000 was always the tape I used to play over and over. So many other great sets that year though it's tough to call.
  20. Congratulations mate! Will check out the remix for sure. Keep 'em coming!
  21. Thanks Aza, that feedback is great and so rarely given by people. I really appreciate you taking the time to do that. It's encouraging to hear as I was particularly happy with this mix myself mainly in the structure. It always helps when there has been a good spectrum of new music collected in a month. I'll take those comments on board and try to keep to this sort of standard. I am terrible myself at giving people feedback by the way so that was not a dig at anyone but Aza is a top man for taking the time to listen to many of our mixes on here and then nearly always returns to the topic to give feedback at a later date. Thanks again.
  22. only one post needed so should be able to download mate. Enjoy!
  23. That sounds cool Briggsy. I'd love to hear some new techno stuff I just don't know where to get hold of it. I still play trance as my main style but I never get it from Beatport. It might just be me but I think beatport is huge for house/electro but not so much trance. Audiojelly is more trance focussed as you can tell by the top 10 on the homepage always being trance. I tend to look there first, then trackitdown and juno. possibly there would be slightly better tunes on those site's charts but I know there is alot of crap out there as well.
  24. I was only making a point earlier that personally it was interesting that the calculator came up with being £200 better off. I was just trying to be positive. Cheese, I wasn't inferring that you claim benefits. It was an observation that in general it seems to be all the benefits and tax relief stuff that is being cut. Since I personally receive none of these then thats why this whole situation is not affecting me as much as some. I know that you and your partner both work hard and can totally understand that supporting a family at the moment would be a struggle. I'm sure lots of people are in that situation and I know it's not easy for many people. I was really just making the observation that if you are single and don't have kids to worry about, you potentially wont feel the crunch as much.
  25. I'll admit, it doesn't look great for those who currently claim benefits (have only looked at a glance). I used the BBC budget calculator thingy and personally it reckons I'll be about £200 better off as a result of the budget. This is basically because I am single and earn below the threshold for higher tax rate.
