  1. How bizarre. Really!? Anyway I guess at the end of it all, it's all about the music. Luckily we have the archives on here to reminisce at least.
  2. Lyndon spot on, lol Owen should replace Rooney with the broken leg btw. Still class... probably going to Stoke this year.
  3. I like Roy too. He is at that perfect age where he commands respect with all his experience, and doesn't strike me as a panicker; rather, measured and collected. Losing in the QFs is probably about right for England at this stage. If they make the Semis of the World Cup now that would be a great effort. Just need to work on retaining the ball better. Rooney clearly wasn't fit and I would have picked Defoe ahead of him yesterday.
  4. Excellent quality mp3. Good re-work of Robert Miles's "Children" in here, going to purchase this now! Thanks sir!
  5. Good show, particularly the Housier stuff at the beginning. That Johny Walker track seems to heavily use DJ Dero's "Radikal" if I'm not mistaken?
  6. Good points by milkybar above. It was a difficult time for DJs - I remember the fierce CD vs Vinyl debate and Jules pounced early on the CDJs, although I don't think his tracks changed too much in 2002 as he would still have been sent some vinyl through the post. I know this because he used to rip a lot of vinyl for his sets. But you are right that something changed. I'm not sure he always had a "filterer" because he used to pride himself in taking 2 whole days to sift through all the vinyl.... but I think with the volume of mp3s coming in it became impossible to continue that - although I would hasten to add that the explosion in digital choice did dilute the quality available for other DJs too. As a beast, DJs have to be flexible and Jules has certainly been willing to do that over the last 25 years. Whilst we're all here bemoaning his abandonment of his 1998-2001 sounds, I know that those who loved his early 1990s House sets were also up in arms when Jules jumped fully on the Trance wagon in late 90s... It depends on what you experienced at the time.
  7. Very pedestrian, interspersed with poor finishing from both sides. Fingers crossed this next half will be better! GO England!
  8. Love that Lange remix very much, thanks sir. Some interesting mixing by Dangerous Dave though! ................Clompety clomp, clompety clomp!! lol
  9. "Wish it was 1999 again" sir I really liked that, please continue to share the memories in each download thread - everyone on here loves hearing snippets of memories from those who were there at the broadcasts... It adds another story, another colour, and another meaning to the set each time
  10. I remember the 1980s well. It was an electronic music explosion - some good, some bad.... I would say this was bad. As one discogs reviewer puts it: "[This] has to be one of the most overrated musical groups on the history of electronic music. I have bought at least 5 or 6 pieces of wax and 2 or 3 CDs by The Art Of Noise over the past ten years only to be consistently dissapointed over and over again. Some remixes of their tracks are alright, if mostly because they only bear passing resemblances to the original versions (see some of the tracks on "The Fon Mixes" from '91). What's worse than their cheesey, self-conciously 'weird', grating, cheep sounding electro-pop is how badly it has aged, though I can't imagine being impressed by it in 1985 either. I imagine that if drugs hadn't been as popular in 80s as they were, they wouldn't have even done as well as they did. There are far better acts who were farther ahead of the times in the 80s that TAON ever were." Judge for Yourself! http://youtu.be/gMPf_5D_RXA
  11. As a proud royalist and Englishman, I would like to wish everybody a very happy Diamond Jubilee weekend!
  12. I agree. We need Mr Kinetic's tapes archived before they are lost forever.

I think Sir FuzzyLogic means *recordings of shows from 2005? Also welcome to the board Mr Gdog11. Surprised you found it a palaver getting registered but maybe its changed since I signed up
  14. Scots are the best clubbers in the world. Enjoy sir. 'ere we f****** go!!
  15. This was released yesterday. Not sure what to make of it. A bit commercial this but I what I really dislike is the obvious autotune on the vocals. Saying that, I just repeated it
  16. Thanks sir will listen to this today! Love this progressive niche
  17. Welcome hehaw! I bet you were gutted when you saw "unknown - unknown"! Used to be a familiar sight back in the day on the old BBC tracklistings I'm sure someone on here can ID it... anyone?
  18. Just listened to this again sir. Love the Gladiator track at the end! Excellent mixing as always. Sorry my feedback took 3 years
  19. You say "something" going on, so true... I know precisely what you mean sir! There's no words for THAT indescribable 'atmosphere' at certain moments, Jules certainly created many for me.
  20. I would wear my full medieval cloth, dark robe, hood up, and sword drawn, prowling around in the dark with this tune following me: Aztec Mystic - Knights of Jaguar
  21. Definitely worth downloading this sirs! Sir Aza I've said it before but your mixing is very tight
  22. Yeah as Dame Chrissie says the tracklistings on here are 1000x more accurate. The Cut Up Boys' 5- or 10-minute mix at the start of the show was a complete waste of time. Very clever and original, and I'm sure they put a lot of time into it packing so many tunes into such a short mashup, but for me it totally wasted time on Jules's show when he could have showcased another new tune...
  23. It is, but the original name at the time was Stadium Rox and they changed it at the last minute. Not sure why!
