  1. What is interesting is both Armin and Ferry in that video above saying they are "producers first, DJs second" - in that DJing was came as a "bonus", a consequence of producing so much. I also liked Armin saying he made his remix of IIO - 'Rapture' just "for fun".... that's how it should be! And you can tell it too - it's an 11-minute masterpiece. Just wouldn't happen today, sadly.
  2. Sir, I think I speak for many on this board that I would give all my limbs to hear these! Huge respect and thank you from a fan who remembers those special days.
  3. Shame you don't have soundcloud sir - it embeds itself on these boards so we can play them instantly from the thread!
  4. In younger days!
  5. From the first mix, this one stands out for me. 13 - Gravity vs Ed Sheeran - The A Team (MW Mashup) Mike sir, is this your re-work? What tracks are involved (not familiar with either!). Thanks
  6. Very straight-talking and honest reasons there, my word! This says it all..... and I have to say, we've been saying it on this board for years and years:
  7. You're obviously put a lot of time into this sir so I shall download these and have a listen. Thanks again for more audio!
  8. What is a podcast? In medieval times, you had to send a messenger over. An obvious example is shown below. The text underneath translates thus: "Here showeth the two Sisters of Daventry receiving the cassette tape of the most recente manndolin and lute mastermixe from Francis de Fleungshaft" (c. 1295)

"Cracking like the whip of a dominatrix, 97-99 Fm radio 1 in the mix" is still the best one!
  10. Burien you are the tracklistings master!
  11. Another Jules favourite from, oooh..... 1998 ish. Think back to those dark Friday nights http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTfXF4-g8eY
  12. My mistake sir! Goodness, the old memory is failing me. Duly changed
  13. Yes sir. I found the full length original intrumental mix was pretty difficult to find back in the day, they were all radio edits or the vocal version which I hated... I only have the original instrumental and this remix, the rest I binned
  14. Tremendous track by Coldplay but they have totally ripped off a 1990s dance track! Here's Coldplay's new single. And here is Lorca - Ritmo De La Noche (The "guitarist" is absolutely hilarious here (see @ 2:00 mins for example), but that aside...)
  15. Jelle Faber is Mac Zimms, if I'm not mistaken. Used to love his stuff.
  16. For some reason there were about 15 million remixes released of this but this one from back in 1999 is still the best I think
  17. It's just great to know so many people remember the 9-11pm friday night shows from back in the day. We're talking 10 years ago and people still remember. How powerful is music.
  18. Looking for more classic 99/2000 mixes

one for you Quadders... straight from the Casio and the drum machine... ehm, nah, it's from Keith-w :) check the audio section

  19. They played live in that Radio 1 Dance Party back in 99.... I know it sounds very "euro" now, but as more an instrumental, it sounded awesome there: http://www.judgejulesarchive.co.uk/archives/board/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=533
  20. I am fed up of the English team and being disappointed (we won't win the Euro Championships next year), so I have adopted a new national team: San Marino. And I am deadly serious. Their last match didn't go so well (11-0) but I am confident of an increase in form as I learn more about my players. Go San Marino!!
  21. Yay my favourite, favourite era. Wonderful. Thank you! Can I also say you have a nice mixing trait - really smooth, almost silken.
  22. Welcome sir. You will enjoy it here and there is some fantastic members' audio on offer.
  23. Maybe it goes without saying, but here is my take on things. 1) Electronic music is frowned upon because it isn't "live" or "natural", and isn't played on instruments by human beings, so it is excluded from the traditional media. I dislike this and feel that electronic music has influenced, guided, and even changed my (and others') lives. I feel sad this is not recognised. 2) Some people do not understand. We do. 3) Trance taps into the emotive side of the brain more than anything else. There's a reason why the "best DJ in the world" in the past 10 years has always been a Trance DJ. Melody, goose pimples, memory, and emotion are key components to the best era, 1998-2001, and I am sad this is being forgotten. 4) I love my dance music and will do til the day I die. that is all, kind sirs.
