  1. Agreed. Unfortunately it's all now a countdown til the sad day anyway
  2. Great! But link not available sir... also, do you have a tracklisting?
  3. The Global Warm-up mixes are bastards to get hold of but I have seem some floating around on those dodgy russian mp3 websites. I'll have a look for these and see what comes up sir. I liked Mr hardwick, shame he hung up his phones.
  4. Obviously I must oblige with a photo! It goes without saying if you try scratching with these the needle will jump around more than one of Jules's Glasgow sets in 2000 But then again I've always been into smooth mixing, not turntablism, and ortofons are the standard for that. Old Nightclub S Concorde (the dog's for many years): Nightclub mk 2 which replaces the above, mainly with a SILLYcolour. Neuro I should have baked you this cake, to serve you a platter on a plate! (sorry couldn't resist)
  5. Looks good Neuro sir, what's the difference between a 1200 and a 1210 exactly though? I think I am right in that they were the same except the power source (the voltage switch)? Also Briggsy sir, I had those Ortofon Nightclub S carts for a long time, they are excellent. Now discontinued though, Ortofon's Nightclub mk II are apparently even better (except being fluourescent orange, yuk :ill: ). They track at a lighter gram too
  6. Stumbled across this Jules classic from 99. I couldn't find this anywhere of but Cloud 9 have re-released it. Clip below http://www.dance-tunes.com/#home/tune/12921/rewind-cloud-9/orson-w/the-love-i-lost/original Just thought I'd post in case any sirs here remembers it
  7. This is stupid. How can you promote an artist by showcasing somebody else's remix? It's not the 1980s anymore when a "remix" used to be little more than a fancy re-edit.... this is Ben Gold you're hearing here, pure and simple :wall: :wall:
  8. What do you mean by this sir?? Poor unicorn
  9. Happy birthday sir. I have baked a cake for you I haven't baked in a while so afraid this one is a bit rushed (should have spent more time on it, sorry...)
  10. I read somewhere that John 00 Fleming thought it was about time Jules hung up his Radio hat because he was a simply "terrible radio presenter". Although he did point out he was a superb DJ back in his House days though and a sound chap. I must try and find the webpage again to verify this but I was surprised at the radio host comment.
  11. On TV it was even worse. Back in the 80s all they showed was drunk scottish people on TV on New Year's Eve. It was terrible!
  12. Pitch black outside, cold, icy winds... but countered by the knowledge there was a Friday night fest of Pete Tong and Jules on Radio 1 back in 1999... That's what this track takes me back to and I remember Mr Tong playing this back in 1999 in a Hot Mix, just before Jules at 9pm. Awesome remix for you to enjoy. How I long for these days again
  13. This looks bloody awesome! Definitely having this on over Christmas - thank you sir
  14. Worth guessing and hoping for the best when it's only 50p though, surely sir! I did the same in a bootfair, some guy had stacks of electronics music vinyl, and some white labels. Did the kind of "5 for £3" deal with some white labels, and one of them ended up being some awesome carl cox 4-tracker promo I still absolutely love which I was also able to ID by the serial number etched in the runout groove and matching it on discogs.com
  15. Co Stompe has such a weird action when he throws too! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaUip6DE5os
  16. Pretty funny back in the day, I remember this
  17. I love hearing snippets like this, so many have similar stories and at the risk of sounding silly, Jules's DJing changed our lives! Nice to know those who remember and clubbed during his golden years of 1998-2001 are still around. Welcome sir
  18. Trance and melodic House are in a trough at the moment. Give it 5 years of obscurity and undergroundness and some gems will come forward and with that, some good DJs.
  19. He has apparently been doing evening classes for the past 5 years or so to get up to scratch....
  20. Bring back Danny Rampling and let's go back to the good old House roots - where it all came from. "Do you remember House?" In my dreams, unfortunately
  21. I can promise everybody now that by creating this thread we are setting ourselves up to be very disappointed! I bet your bottom dollar he'll do a normal show with the latest tracks, and sign-off professionally with no big fanfare. That's Jules. It will happen, and we'll be like - "is that it? He could have made more of his last show." You wait, sirs!
  22. Welcome sir! Do they have Trance in China? If not I can fully appreciate your withdrawal symptoms!
  23. Anyway it is a sad day. I haven't listened to Jules religiously for close to 10 years now but I am forever thankful and loyal to him as a DJ for his tremendous moments of musical genius during 98-2001. Thanks for the memories, sir, and hats off to a tremendous stint at Radio 1.
  24. Was Jules expecting this? On just 6th December 2011 I had a mailing from Full On Ferry and Jules was interviewed: In it he says: Source: http://www.fullonferrylondon.com/ViewInterview.aspx?Id=304
