  1. Anyway it is a sad day. I haven't listened to Jules religiously for close to 10 years now but I am forever thankful and loyal to him as a DJ for his tremendous moments of musical genius during 98-2001. Thanks for the memories, sir, and hats off to a tremendous stint at Radio 1.
  2. Was Jules expecting this? On just 6th December 2011 I had a mailing from Full On Ferry and Jules was interviewed: In it he says: Source: http://www.fullonferrylondon.com/ViewInterview.aspx?Id=304
  3. ... on a tower crane? This honestly made me feel ill watching it, but I upload it here so we can also mock the outrageous stupidity of the man and total disregard for human life. Before you ask, I just stumbled across it on youtube. As you do.
  4. I'm not sure about number 23. I think a lot of artists had the same trance packs so some of 'moments' in the compositions around this time sound similar. I know what you mean though!
  5. It's a difficult time for everybody in all industries. Personally two more of my workmates have been sacked... more senior than me but I think it's a bit harsh before Christmas. But I understand if there's no money in the pot. What I find amazing is that the whole world is discovering that debt is bad and years of borrowing is unsustainable. It's screwed us over for the next 10 years, in reality How are other JJA members faring?
  6. Looking forward to listening sir as I am doing some DIY in the house tomorrow. A long progressive fest will be the perfect focusser for me. Thank you!!
  7. Agreed sir. It got to number 6, but had to look that up!
  8. I think agassi is right. I wonder why Jules didn't just re-do the samples or even remove them entirely so the track could be released? Another shelved project along with the Hi-Gate tracks which never made the album. Craig how is the reconstruction going along, sir?
  9. I remember this being on Radio 1 in 1996, I think it made it in the charts, I can't remember where though.... Anyone remember this?
  10. God save the Queen, the Pound Sterling and our island traditions... we are an island and we are proud of our heritage, however archaic people may think it, it really doesn't matter. I am proud. I will vote for UKIP. http://www.ukip.org/page/ukip-history
  11. Interesting stuff guys! Seriously though, I say it again but what the f*** are they doing struggling with selling current downloads when they could simply put up their back catalogue from 1994 and make a f****** fortune...
  12. There is no replacement for the special trance and house of 99-2001. Sorry but it's true
  13. Welcome sire. Tell us about your radio memories...
  14. It does, trust me. I have been at live sets on the dancefloor with Jules playing and suddenly everyone is turning round with the "what the f*** is this?" face and not really dancing. THAT, to me is loss of atmosphere and, like trust, takes a good 15 mins to get back. Isn't it amazing as a DJ you can build, build, build, lovely - but one wrong move it just completely fu*** it, it's all wrong and you go back to the bar to slag it off with your mates... it's all such a shame and it happens so much!
  15. I've found that sifting though the (too many) CD compilations of Trance Classics online in DJDownload.com is ideal because they are also obliged to release the individual tracks that make up the continous DJ mixes... worth cherry-picking the odd track out of those
  16. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-15474473 Who'd have thought a gigantic ring of concrete had so many dance links?
  17. Superb news. Thank you sir looking forward to them!
  18. I hated it. Passionately. Back in the millennium era, if I missed 5 minutes of Jules's Friday show I'd be well annoyed as I might have missed a great track. During the era of the Cut Up Boys, I would often go out of my way to deliberately miss the start of the show and only start recording 10 mins later when Jules "started" playing some tracks. It is very clever but really apart from that I just considered it as time eaten out of Jules's show and therefore less time for him to showcase an extra new track or two. Just my opinion sir, no offence meant of course. If it's opened up another avenue of electronic music for you, then it's done a good job hasn't it really
  19. Maybe that's the solution - recreate as perfectly as possible, get it played out and signed to a label and wait for someone to come forward for copyright infringement
  20. I like this. Spot-on. I am proud of England. Proud of our island. And proud of our currency - and so should you be too.
  21. No, I'm not talking about the record label. I'm just interested in who loves the Euro as a currency to have here and who loves our beloved Pound Sterling. Vote away sirs!
  22. I love both types of Trance you mention Briggsy sir: Your "Floaty girly crap" (perhaps you're thinking some of the poorer Anjunabeats material) quietly in my headphones - when I'm travelling, or working at home; Your full-on "proper" Trance you posted above - when I'm in a club It just depends on my environment and my mood! When I'm cooking, for example, I always play 90s House. And if I were going into battle, before donning my chainmail I would listen to U2. Possibly. You get the idea anyway.
