Fantastic mix this Just out of interest, does anyone know why they changed the vocal on Loneliness? The vocal on the Kosmo release was fantastic, but then they changed the singer for all other releases & it sounds awful. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EMeT3ir71k - Compare this (Kosmo release) to the others. It's so much better. I'm not knocking the mix by the way, I'm just having a rant.

I spent ages looking for a digital copy but I couldn't find it anywhere. I ended up getting the 12" off discogs & ripping it to my PC.

This is definitely the Shimono remix. Just checked my copy.

Great mix this. It's great to hear some of my favourites from the year alongside a few that I'd somehow managed to miss.

Top notch stuff

To my ears it needs: Some sort of synth line or sequence of stabs an octave or two higher than the low stabs and EQ'ed to fill out the upper mid range. A slightly snappier swing on the bassline (43% is a good starting point) and the bassline could do with a bit more boost at around the 60hz level (60hz is roughly the bass frequency that you can feel in your body). A little reverb and panning on elements of the percussion to fill it out a bit. Maybe a bit of stereo widening here and there. Some heavy compression on some of the weaker sounding elements to give a little bit more of a kick. Possibly sidechain some of the synths with the kick drum to give it a bit of groove. Definitely liking what I'm hearing so far though. A bit more punch and a nice snappy swing & it should kick rather nicely.

I'm working on a little recreation of the classic 30/06/2000 Lush set but the problem is I'm lacking copies of Sons of Piru - Impure Thoughts and the infamous ID track. I know the latter is wishful thinking but does anyone know if Impure Thoughts is available on mp3 anywhere? I don't currently have any facility for ripping vinyl to my pc so buying the vinyl isn't really an option. I've tried all the major download stores but to no avail. Cheers

4 to 6 hours? I use FL Studio myself but it usually takes me around that just on the mastering alone. Some fantastic tracks & remixes you've got there. I wish I was that talented at producing!
