  1. Is the 1995 essential mix on this site??
  2. Such is life!! But don't you forgot how heavy a bag of records is to take out with you, carry into a pub/club/party, have other people rummaging through, spilling things on, stealing. How difficult to get certain tunes/mixes could be. How expensive it was to like and buy just four 12"s in a record shop. Don't get me wrong, I love vinyl so much, every piece, I love how it can be exclusive, how it can be on shelves to look at. Putting the needle on it, everything. Although I look at my vinyl in fondness, my photos from clubs where Jules has a record box etc, I think we all know why DJing technology has moved on from those days. I am glad I experienced it in its hay day. Pretty soon I think the day of the DJ will be gone. Mark my words. :-/
  3. On a personal level, mixing on vinyl felt good.

Lame?? That's a joke yeah? Lol
  5. Why do condoms need f****** names anyway, does anyone care what the name is, basically you wanna know if it works, end of. Surely?
  6. I love this. At work I sometimes have to go to the store and get new bikes out, this makes me laugh as they are called 12" girls thrill, 14" pink lipstick, 16" ride'n'play, girls 18" hot glitter vibe!!! And so on ... I dunno if any of you find those names funny, but it reminds me of a list you'd get in an Anne Summers catalogue. As for the Ben 10 aliens names, well they're for a more hardcore kinda lady!!
  7. At first I read "I created EDM" to which I was gobsmacked by each word. I did play the tune on YT last week after I heard about it, got about a minute in, decided it was a catchy pop record that I thought was by Enrique Iglésias, I really don't give two hoots anymore about much of these "EDM" shenanigans tbh. If Beiber asked me to remix his tune, I'd probably do it. Todd Terry, Rollo, and many more have remixed pop artists before, sometimes it works, sometimes a cheesy pop fan gets into dance music thru it, and vice versa. Still better than Deadmau5 latest track, which I assumed was Jedward when I first heard it being played. (prog house?? Erm..... No)
  8. I thought the same in that I'd rather have watched a year by year of the history of dance music, though Jimmy Saville didn't have an impact on me. But it was still enjoyable, though limited on its facts and info.
  9. The clubbing prog is repeated on 4seven at 10pm tonight that's channel 140 on sky. Weirdly I have the House Party on now while I play Yahtzee with the kids and they love it. They keep sitting transfixed to the screen lol
  10. Just put the six hour prog on, it'll be background music for me until bedtime hopefully. The programme before probably shoulda had more input from Jules and although it was an enjoyable watch and listen, seeing footage from back in the day and reminders of tunes etc, plus a few bits of equipment I found interesting, it was poorly put together, very fragmented and if anyone with no real clubbing knowledge or experience watched it, they probably just think it was all drugs motivated. And despite all the drugs taken it was in fact all about dancing and music. It jumped from one era to another and then back again, with contradicting statements about very big influences on the scene. I thought. But as programmes like this are rare, it was an enjoyable program. Well written for the presenter, and well presented in that sense, but not entirely factual. What was clear though, was the passion of the old skoolers, the way it was for the party, not for the money. As I wrote all that, grandmaster flashes voice is getting on my tits, but I'm off to look through some tubs of photos and I think the mixing will keep me company, shame he won't shut up, it's worse than Jules' jingles .... Jeeez
  11. And from midnight til 6am Well worth a watch xx

  14. All the people, so many people, they all go hand in hand........

  15. I asked him a couple of years ago and he said he definitely would, but not just yet. I don't read all the time, I never read fiction but I do read autobiographies of people I like, and I think Jules' would be very interesting.
  16. He doesn't need the money. I do need the book though!!
  17. Nah. He loves it! He's just getting on a bit now
  18. Who said grinding? What is that? (*hopes it wasn't me)
  19. Kinda says alot that!! Not entirely sure if it says more the poll or the voters or Tong himself!
  20. In the same way we used the TUNE card we should hold up NO MORE JINGLES banners I think!
  21. He played them at Global Gathering too, who clearly dropped him afterwards! :-/
  22. I usually have, and by that I mean a good 14 yrs, I wasn't going to this year as it's so pish now and also I no longer go clubbing. But then I saw Deadmau5's cat plugging for votes and as a cat lover myself I couldn't resist. His cat had an actual photoshoot!
