  1. Weirdly I noticed the other day when I had the urge to play his final final mix at work. Spotted the date on it then.
  2. Btw you're right about the warmth, and I believe this is also a reflection on the skill of the ppl making the music. Chrissie, me too btw. Was a great way to wake up this morning
  3. Love that vid! Makes me wish I had a talent.
  4. He was born during the height of Jules though. I remember the Mixmag article very clearly.
  5. Sadly it's just modern day technology, and anybody can do this kinda thing. But he's just a young lad with a famous dad and a lot of money. I can't see this being a big career for him.
  6. Awww god dammit, I wanted to play this today, I came here to do so in fact. I've had trouble with that Livid thing before, so I wont be going there again. Shame. I used to use Mediafire sometimes, but I uploaded some bits at the weekend and it flagged it up as copyrighted and my friend wasn't able to download at the other end. Obvs I removed it as soon as it said copyrighted, but it was only to play a tune I own at the other end. Dunno where is a good place to use now?
  7. Jake O'riordan, the boy on the right, is on soundcloud. https://soundcloud.com/jake-squared-1/jake-first-mix?utm_source=soundcloud&utm_campaign=share&utm_medium=facebook&utm_content=https%3A%2F%2Fsoundcloud.com%2Fjake-squared-1%2Fjake-first-mix Judge for yourselves!!! Not the same as when Jules started out though is it, when you had to party illegally, play vinyl you'd searched for or found by chance. Doesn't he look like his dad still though?
  8. Nah. I'd give him a listen if he were a daytime dance reminisc, and there's no denying his radio persona and gift of the gab are right up there. He was dropped from radio one and that was sad in that it marked the end of an era, but that era was already well and truly over. Nothing lasts forever!
  9. I have OCD but I have a completely different version of it, I mean I like my music but if anything it's my OCD relief to play music, jog memories, dance, sing, obsessively want to accumulate records and CDs. The MP3 thing is just a way of listening to it all. I see where you're all coming from. It's what you call "anal". I don't worry about labelling my mp3s perfectly, I like the real hard copy if poss, and then I'm happy so long as the artist - track name (mix) is on the laptop/hardrive. My official OCD is much more worrying than mp3 labelling lol. However, it all starts somewhere and when I was younger I'd have been just like you all!
  10. I probably would say Ministry of Sound Aza, but I would also say you have OCD lol. I have OCD so I'm allowed to joke about it, that's the law. I can't see how else you could consolidate the albums. X
  11. I've seen it in HMV funnily enough and wondered if it was good or just a cash in. I'll prob get it now. Irvine Welsh wrote a good series of books that followed, I haven't read them all but actually probably should have. Like a good recommendation and as I am currently trying to support my local HMV this has come at a good time. X
  12. I'd like a few 12"s this Christmas!! Merry Christmas to you too Fuzzy-Wuzzy-woo, and a happy new year. Same to the rest of this wonderful board, Merry Christmas X
  13. I always thought " The funk phenomenon " Lyrics were " the top banana " And that tiny vocal bit in battle trance galaxia sounds like "shoplifting shoplifting shoplifting"
  14. Haha yeah I heard it in Asda when I was in there. Our store music is f****** diabolical and I don't care what they say - shit music makes for shit sales!!
  15. Briggsy I love that Mike Oldfield one. It's my favourite Christmas tune. Recently I downloaded the new War of the Worlds. And I like it..
  16. He was good friends with her, and I believe they went to the same school. But actually I did like put a spell on you quite alot and feels so good. They still have alot of sentimental value, memories of long drives to clubs singing along in the car with my friend.
  17. Did he? Omg I wonder how much he made from that?
